Estudio de Piano Support
Practice piano technique on iPhone and iPad with your MIDI keyboard or the microphone, and get live feedback on every take.
Estudio de Piano gives you technique exercises — scales, arpeggios, études — and public-domain repertoire. While you play, the app follows the score and checks your notes, rhythm and accuracy in real time. You can play a MIDI keyboard connected over USB or Bluetooth, or an acoustic piano through the device’s microphone.
Write to gbrayhan@gmail.com. It helps a lot to tell us which device you use (iPhone or iPad model), which keyboard or piano you have and which version of the app.
How do I connect a MIDI keyboard over USB?
Plug the keyboard’s USB cable into your iPhone or iPad. If the device has a USB‑C port, a USB‑C cable or adapter is all you need; with a Lightning port you need Apple’s Lightning to USB Camera Adapter. The keyboard shows up in the app with no extra steps. Some keyboards need their own power supply when connected to an iPhone.
And over Bluetooth?
Bluetooth MIDI keyboards (BLE MIDI) are connected from inside the app, not from the system’s Bluetooth settings. Turn the keyboard on, switch on its Bluetooth mode and find it on the app’s connection screen.
I want to play my acoustic piano: the microphone hears nothing
To practice with the microphone, the app needs microphone access. Check it in Settings → Estudio de Piano → Microphone. Place the device close to the piano and avoid background noise. If you have headphones with a built-in microphone plugged in, the sound comes in through the headphones, which pick up the instrument poorly.
The app marks my notes late, or out of time
Every combination of device, cable, Bluetooth or microphone has its own delay. In Settings you can calibrate the latency so rhythm is judged fairly. If you play with the microphone, also use “Calibrate with my piano”: you play each key once and the app learns how your particular instrument sounds, which greatly improves note recognition. Those snippets are stored only on your device and you can delete them from Settings.
Why are some exercises “being verified” or “awaiting transcription”?
We prefer to be upfront about what we offer. An exercise that is “being verified” can already be practiced, but its score has not yet been checked note by note against the original source. One that is “awaiting transcription” is in the catalog but does not have its score loaded yet. Both will be completed in upcoming versions.
How do I remove the ads?
The app is free and shows unobtrusive ads, never while you practice or with the microphone open. If you would rather not see them, buy Estudio de Piano Pro in Settings → Estudio de Piano Pro: it is a one-time purchase that removes them for good. It does not unlock content: the whole repertoire stays free. If you switch devices or reinstall the app, tap Restore Purchases in that same section.
Privacy
The app has no accounts and no servers of its own. Microphone audio is analyzed on your device and is never recorded or sent anywhere, and your progress is stored only on your device. Ads in the free version are served by Google AdMob, which may process some data depending on the consent you give (Apple’s “Allow Tracking” prompt and, in Europe, Google’s consent form). The details are in the privacy policy.
