Piano Practice App That Listens to You (Microphone or MIDI)
Estudio de Piano is a free iPhone and iPad app that listens to what you play on your piano — through the microphone if it is acoustic, or over USB or Bluetooth if it is a MIDI keyboard — and compares every note with the score: it tells you whether it was correct, early or late, wrong or missed, and when you finish it gives you a score from 0 to 100 with a heat map by bar. It is built for technique: Hanon, scales, Czerny, Burgmüller, Chopin. No accounts and no subscription.
What you need
- An iPhone or iPad running iOS 17 or later.
- An acoustic or digital piano (microphone) or a MIDI keyboard (USB cable or Bluetooth).
Microphone or MIDI
- MIDI: every note arrives with its exact timing; the most precise option.
- Microphone: polyphonic analysis on the device itself, chords included; the audio is never recorded and never leaves your phone.
How it differs from song-based apps
- A complete classical technique repertoire instead of pop songs.
- Guided practice in three levels: Learn (waits for you note by note), Practice (in tempo) and Perform (a graded take).
- Free with unobtrusive ads that never show while you practice; a one-time purchase removes them. No subscription.
